This blog was started in 2011 by a group of Bangladeshi bloggers who blog in English. Some were veterans of earlier blogs Drishtipat/Unheard Voices. Others had blogged in somewherein and sachal, but found those spaces unwelcoming to English language blogging.

We believe AlalODulal blog works best as a place for long-form opinion essays and analysis, not as a “breaking news” source– we have neither the resources, nor the infrastructure, to function as a news gathering or verification unit.

Our inspiration is, and will always be,… guru Azam Khan.
