We exchanged stories at Boi Mela. My mind is helter skelter now. Ask me a question. I have no easy answer.

Ask, who profits most, from which death? Try to understand the motive. Then, and only then, you may prevent future murders. Understand this, minus one is only the first step to minus two. Don’t believe what media says, learn to think on your own. Don’t color things with ideology. Think. Everyone is in danger. Even the two national leaders are in danger.

Today Ekattur Journal called me to their talk show after a two year gap. I didn’t go, I have left talk shows behind. If I went I would have to talk about friend Avijit Roy. It isn’t possible to talk about that calmly. I debated Marxism and Science with him. He used to write nonstop. When Humayun Azad was murdered, I protested with thousands of students and youth. We brought out a special bulletin from resistance chapter. Now I have become inert. Wanting to know the truth is the most dangerous.

Avijit’s father Ajoy Roy will fight to learn the truth, I am by his side. Everybody knew, there was no security at Boi Mela. Everyone knew, there was no other mass gathering in the current war zone Bangladesh.

When you get agitated without understanding, your emotion makes you blind. Whatever you do, more will die. The pied piper of deep politics, the puppet-master, will play his game of death. More and more young lives will lie as shattered bodies. From Pilkhana to Boi Mela, Crossfire, Petrol bomb, machete, fire and blood. So many young lives. To get to power and to keep power, some sing song of shushil, some sing of development, some sing of democracy.

If we want to survive, we must learn, who are the ambassadors of this Deep Politics. Who has put out the fishing net, and at the end of the game, they will pull the net back themselves?

একসঙ্গে আড্ডা দিয়েছি বইমেলায়। মন কু গাইছিল। প্রশ্ন করুন। সহজ উত্তর নাই। প্রশ্ন করুন কোন হত্যায় কার লাভ বেশি? মোটিভ কী তা বুঝুন। তাহলে পরের হত্যাগুলো কমতে পারে। মাইনাস ওয়ান মানে মাইনাস টু এর প্রথম ধাপ, এটা বুঝুন। মিডিয়া বললেই হবে না, নিজে চিন্তা করুন। মতাদর্শ দিয়ে রাঙাবেন না। বিপদ সবার। প্রধান দুই নেত্রীও হুমকিতে।

আজ একাত্তর জার্নাল দীর্ঘ দুই বছর পর তাদের টক শো তে ডেকেছিল। যাইনি, টকশো ত্যগ করেছি বলে। গেলে বন্ধু অভিজিৎকে নিয়ে কথা বলতে হতো, নির্লিপ্ত খবরে সেটা সম্ভব না নিরাবেগভাবে। তাঁর সঙ্গে মার্কসবাদ ও বিজ্ঞান নিয়ে তর্ক করেছি। লিখতেন অবিরাম।

হুমায়ুন আজাদের ওপর হামলার পর হাজার হাজার ছাত্র তরুণকে নিয়ে প্রতিবাদ করেছি। বুলেটিন বের করেছি প্রতিরোধপর্ব থেকে। এখন জড় হয়ে গেছি, সত্য জানতে চাওয়া সবচেয়ে বিপদজনক। অভিজিৎ রায়ের বাবা অজয় রায় সত্য জানতে লড়াই করবেন, তাঁর পাশে আছি।

সবাই জানেন, বইমেলায় কোনো নিরাপত্তা ছিল না। সবাই জানেন এরকম যুদ্ধাবস্থায় জনসমাগম আর কোথাও ছিল না।

তোমরা মারবে ও মরবে, কিন্তু বুঝবে না, তোমরা শাহবাগ থেকে শাপলা সবখানেই ব্যবহৃত হয়েছ, নির্বোধের উত্তেজনা আর আবেগের ধূলা চোখে তোমরা যাই করবে, তাতে আরো প্রাণ ঝরবে।

ডিপ পলিটিকসের খেলারাম খেলে যায় সর্বনাশা খেলা, আর পড়ে থাকে তরুণের ছিন্নভিন্ন লাশ।

পিলখানা থেকে বইমেলা, ক্রসফায়ার, পেট্রলবোমা থেক চাপাতি, আগুন আর রক্তে তরুণের প্রাণ যায়। ক্ষমতায় যেতে বা ক্ষমতা রাখতে কেউ সুশীল কেউবা উন্নয়ন আর কেউবা গণতন্ত্র সাজে।

বাঁচতে চাইলে জানতে হবে, কারা সেই ডিপ পলিটিকস এর দূত, এই জাল যে ছড়ায় আর গুটাবে শেষে নিজ হাতে?
