একজন ফেসবুক বন্ধুর কাছ থেকে একটা মেসেজ পেয়েছি.

আমি বিদ্যুত বিভাগে চাকরি করতাম | নিয়মিত ট্রাবলশুটিং এর বাইরে ওই সব জায়গায় আমি লেবার দিয়ে বিদ্যুতের পোল বসাইছি, গাছ কাটছি, সিমেন্ট ফ্যাক্টরি, রি-রোলিং মিল এইসবের ভিতরেও এক দুইবার গেছি। কাজেই আমার কথাটা আসলে এই এলাকার মানুষজনের সাথে মিশার উপর ভিত্তি করে। আমার মনে হইছে, ১- বেশিরভাগ লেবাররা আসলে তার নিজের জীবনকে খুব তুচ্ছ, মূল্যহীন ভাবে, তার সাথের অন্যদেরটাকেও, কিন্তু আমাদের (মানে আমরা যারা তাদের বস) টা না। তাদের দৃষ্টিতে আমাদের জীবনের মূল্য তাদের চাইতে অনেক বেশী। এমন কোন লেবার নাই যে তার চোখের সামনে কোন মৃত্যু দেখে নাই।

ওরা ধরেই নিছে যে, ওরা নিচু – ওদের কোন অধিকার নাই। এইটাও স্বাভাবিক কোন মানসিকতা না। কালো মানুষদের মুক্তিদাতা নেলসন মেন্ডেলার মৃত্যুতে সারা প্রথিবীর মত আমাদের দেশেও যেরকম তিনদের রাষ্ট্রীয় শোক, পত্রিকার কলামে, ফেসবুকে, টিভিতে শোকগ্রস্ত মানুষের শোক-বানির বন্যা তখন এই ফেসবুক বন্ধুর বাস্তব অভিজ্ঞতার আলোকে দেয়া এই মেসেজটা আমাদের প্রশ্ন করে, নেলসন ম্যান্ডেলাকে নিয়ে আমরা উচ্ছ্বসিত হতে পারি কিন্তু, আমাদের নিজের দেশের মানুষের মধ্যে আমরা যে রেসিজম পুষে রেখেছি তাকে কি আমরা সমাধান তো দুরের কথা- স্বীকার করি কিনা।

কালো মানুষদের সংগ্রামে নেলসন মেন্ডেলার ভূমিকা বোধ হয় যে তিনি রিলে রেসের শেষ ব্যাটনটা পৌঁছে দিয়েছেন গন্তব্যে বলে । যদিও কালো সাদার সম অধিকার এর সংগ্রামে আরও অনেক দুর যেতে হবে, কিন্তু একটা মুল সংগ্রাম থেকে বিজয় ইতিমধ্যেই অর্জিত। তা হল – কালো মানুষদের মানুষ হিসেবে স্বীকৃতির। কয় এক শতক পূর্বে যখন, ইউরোপিয়ান এবং আরব দাস ব্যবসায়ীরা কালো মানুষদের আফ্রিকা থেকে বন্দি করে সারা পৃথিবীতে কেনাবেচা করতো তখন তাদের প্রধান কাজ যেটা ছিল, তা হল অত্যাচার এবং অমানবিক পরিশ্রম এর মধ্যে দিয়ে এবং পশুর মত ব্যবহার করে এই মানুষগুলোর মধ্যে সে যে একজন মানুষ সেই স্বত্বাটাকে ধ্বংস করে দেয়া।

কয় এক জেনারেশানের এই ডিহিউমেনাইজেশান প্রসেসে কালো মানুষেরা এক সময় আসলেই বিশ্বাস করা শুরু করে, সে তার ইউরোপীয় প্রভুর থেকে একজন নিম্ন প্রজাতির প্রাণী। প্রথম পর্যায়ে এই ব্যক্তির মধ্যে মানুষের অস্তিত্বকে মেরে ফেলার এই প্রক্রিয়াটি হচ্ছে সব চেয়ে কুৎসিত পর্যায়ের বর্ণবাদ। এইটাকে ইংরেজি ভাষায় ডিহিউমেনাইজেশান বলে |

আমাদের দেশে আমরা ডিহিউমেনাইজেশান এর অস্তিত্বও স্বীকার করি না তাই এই শব্দের কোনো প্রতিশব্দ নাই। দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক বর্ণবাদ এবং পৃথিবীর অন্যান্য আরো অনেক দেশে সমঅধিকার এর দাবীতে নেলসন মেন্ডেলা এবং ম্যালকম এক্স, রোজা পার্ক সহ আরো অনেক নেতা মানুষের মনে শ্রদ্ধার আসন গড়ে নিয়েছেন । সেইটা কালো আর সাদা মানুষের লড়াই। কিন্তু,আমাদের বাংলাদেশে বাদামি বর্ণের মানুষেরা যাদের গাত্র বর্ণের মধ্যে তেমন কোন রঙ এর হেরফের নেই, তার মধ্যে যে বিত্ত বা টাকার পরিমাণ এর উপর ভিত্তি করে একটা ব্যাপক বর্ণবৈষম্য আছে তাকে তো আমরা স্বীকার করি না বটেই বরং আমাদের দেশের বর্ণবাদ এখন ব্যক্তির মধ্যে মানুষের অস্তিত্বকে মেরে ফেলার মতো সব চেয়ে কুত্সিত পর্যায়ে পরে আছে। এইটা অত্যাচারিত মানুষদের জন্যে সব চেয়ে অমানবিক পর্যায়।

আপনি বলতে পারেন, ধুর মিয়া। আপনি খালি একজেজেগারেট করেন। আপনি চিন্তা করে দেখেন। একজন রিকশাওয়ালার সাথে আপনার যেই মৌখিক চুক্তি নিয়ে গেঞ্জাম, তা আপনার প্রায় হয়। আপনার বন্ধু আপনাকে টাকা দিয়ে টাকা ফেরত দেয় না। আপনার অফিসের পিয়ন চা আনতে গিয়ে, দুই ঘণ্টা লাগায়। আপনার কখনও থাপ্পড় দেয়ার কথা মনে আসে না।

অথচ এই গেঞ্জাম এর প্যাটার্ন একই। এর কারণ, তার ব্যক্তি এবং মানব সত্তা আপনার মনে সমান নয়। আপনি যেই রকম একটা কুকুরকে লাথি দিতে পারেন ঠিক তেমনি আপনার আব্বার বয়সী একটা মানুষকে থাপ্পড় দিতে পারেন । একই কাহিনী আপনার ঘরে। আপনার যে কাজ এর লোক সে আপনার টেবিলে বসতে পারেনা। আপনি যদি দেখেন, বাসায় এসে আপনার কাজ এর লোক কাজ করতে করতে আপনার বিছানায় শুয়ে আছে আপনি তাকে দুইটা উত্তম মাধ্যম দিয়ে বলবেন চাদরটা চেঞ্জ করে দিতে।

এইটা একটা ব্যক্তির মধ্যে মানুষের অস্তিত্বকে মেরে ফেলার প্রক্রিয়ার একটা স্টেজ যখন আপনি সেই দাস ব্যবসায়ীর ভূমিকা নিয়েছেন এবং আপনার কাজ এর মেয়ে আফ্রিকার কালো মানুষের ভূমিকা নিছে। জাস্ট আপনাদের উভয় এর রঙ একই – কিন্তু দুইটা ঘটনার কন্টেক্সট একই, প্রকার একই, কার্যকরণ একই।

আমি বাংলাদেশের সব চেয়ে বেশি খরচ করে অর্গানাইজ করা কর্পোরেট প্রোগ্রামে গিয়ে দেখেছি, ড্রাইভার জন্যে রাতে খাবার ব্যবস্থা করা নাই এবং প্রোগ্রাম এলাকার ধারে কাছে কোন হোটেল নাই যে ড্রাইভাররা খেতে পারবে। এবং বছর এর পর বছর এইটা হয়ে আসছে, ড্রাইভাররাও প্রতিবাদ করে না এবং অফিসের কর্মকর্তাররা যারা এই সব প্রোগ্রামে ২০/২৫ লক্ষ টাকা অনুমোদন দেয় তখন ড্রাইভার দের খাবার এর কথা আসলে বলে, ওরা নিজেরা ওদের ব্যবস্থা করবে । এই গুলো চোখের সামনে দেখা। আপনারাও দেখেছেন।

এই ধরনের আচরণ সব চেয়ে বেশি শো করে আমাদের আরবান উচ্চবিত্ত যারা মধ্যবিত্ত থেকে উচ্চ বিত্তে উঠে আসে। প্রতিষ্ঠানের নন অফিসার কর্মচারীদের সাথে তাদের অমানবিকতা নিজের চোখে না দেখলে বিশ্বাস করা যায় না। এবং বছর এর পর বছর ধরে, তারা এই প্রসেসটা এমন ভাবে চালু রাখে যে, এই নিম্নপদস্থ কর্মচারীরা একটা ডিহিউমিনাজাইসনের মধ্যে চলে যায়। এবং তারা এক সময় বিশ্বাস করা শুরু করে, তার চেয়ে তার বস এর পার্থক্য এত বেশি যে তারা একই গোত্রের মানুষ নয় । অফিসাররা উঁচুতলার মানুষ এবং সে নিজে জাস্ট একটা নোবাডি – কেউ না – তার কোন মানবিক অস্তিত্ব নাই।

এই খানে, বিভাজন সৃষ্টি করে টাকা। কারণ, এই নিম্নবিত্ত এত কম রুজির মধ্যে থাকে যে, সে জানে তার এবং তার সন্তানের ওই দিনের খাবার এই মানুষটার মরজির উপর নির্ভর করে। এবং সেই জানে তার এই নির্ভরতা ঘুচবার নয়। ফলে, আফ্রিকার কালো দাসদের মতই বাংলাদেশের এই নিম্নশ্রেণীর মানুষেরা জানে তার শরীর, সত্ত্বা, মন এই উচ্চশ্রেণীর সিদ্ধান্তের উপর নির্ভর করে । সর্বোচ্চ ৬ থেকে ১০ হাজার টাকার আয়ের মধ্যে এই মানুষ গুলো ব্তাবদের সম্পূর্ণ ব্যক্তি সত্ত্বা বিসর্জন দিতে বাধ্য হয়। এবং এই উচ্চ শ্রেণির মানুষেরা চাইলেই তাকে কিনতে পারে, বেচতে পারে, শাস্তি দিতে পারে এবং মুক্তি দিতে পারে। এইটাও পরিষ্কার দাসত্ব। এবং সব চেয়ে কুৎসিত রকম দাসত্ব। যেই পর্যায়ে, একজন নিম্ন আয়ের মানুষ তার ব্যক্তিসত্তা থেকে মানুষ হিসেবে তার অস্তিত্ব কে বর্জন করে ফেলেছে। এবং সমাজ সামগ্রিক ভাবে তার নিজের ডিহিউমেনেজাইসেন কে গ্রহণ করেছে।

আফ্রিকার কালো মানুষেরা আমাদের নিম্ন বর্ণের সেই সব মানুষ থেকে অনেক ভাল ছিল কারণ তার সেই বৈষম্যে মানবিক মনের মানুষদের কাছে অগ্রহণযোগ্য ছিল এবং তাদের অধিকার আদায় এর জন্যে বিশ্বব্যাপী প্রতিবাদ সংগ্রাম হয়েছে । কিন্তু, আমাদের সমাজে এই অত্যন্ত গর্হিত একটা বিষয় যে আপনি আমি সবাই মিলে চর্চা করছি তা নিয়ে কোন আলোচনা নাই। আমরা এইটার অস্তিত্ব স্বীকারও করিনা।

ফলে নেলসন ম্যান্ডেলাকে নিয়ে আমরা যে মর্সিয়া গীতি গাচ্ছি তা ভুয়া। আমাদের অন্তর্গত রেসিজম এবং সমাজের ভেতর এই ডিহিউমানায়জেশান কে স্বীকার না করে, নেলসন ম্যান্ডেলার কালো মানুষের লড়াই নিয়ে আমাদের কান্নাকাটি একটা চরম লেভেলের হিপক্রেসি ছাড়া আর কিছুই নাই।
